What is syngas? It is the acronym of Synthetic Gas, that is a gas produced synthetically through a series of gasification processes starting from waste products such as animal pollen or biomass.
Gasification consists of incomplete oxidation of solid or liquid biomass in a high temperature environment (800 ÷ 1000 ° C) for the production of a combustible gas (called syngas or syngas gas or gas gases, consisting of H2, CO, CxHy, N2, CO2, in varying proportions depending on the type of biomass and the type of gasifier used) with a lower calorific value ranging between 4000 kJ / Nm3 and 14000 kJ / Nm3.
